Where are we heading?

During the course of this subject, we have gone through different theories and hypothesis relating to international system and how we can move towards a more peaceful and serene global governance and reach towards our goal of global progress and equality. We studies how world class scholars and authorities on political science and International relations devised and promulgated their theories to define a framework for everyone to work towards in a complex global network.

But in my personal view, these theories are not able to do the job they were required to do. They were aimed at making our a better place but over the course of time things have gotten worse and we more and more emerging in the system which have left scholars and authorities clueless. I still
believe that the world lacks a unitary global theory or teamwork that can ensure peace and mutual development and offer a win win situation for all. The fact that such theory might sound Utopian and wishful always exists but that should not restrict people from broadening their horizon and thinking big.

It essential, at this point in history, for scholars and leaders throughout the world to dig deep and take a leap from the present matrix of realist politics and move towards a better state of international governance. Initiative from big powers is essential in this regard but what is important is the exhibition of intent form the people and scholars alike to work towards a more cooperative government which is less of a power driven system

  1. The theories are meant to help us understand the world, though they may not always help to inform policy makers that actually go about changing it. And why do we need a grand unified theory? What utility would that serve?
